Time & Place: Conceptual Archival Practices in Contemporary Exhibition Making

Speakers: Andrew Jiang (President, AIAS ITT chapter, Dirk Denison Architects, founder Art x Architecture Gallery), Matthias Neumann (Artist/Architect, normaldesign/ECA), and Amy Kaczmarek (Registrar, Institutional Archival Technician) with Bianca Bova (Associate Director, CAPA and Curator) to serve as moderator.

"Time & Place: Conceptual Archival Practices in Contemporary Exhibition Making" is a panel discussion exploring the conceptual aspects of archival work and its intersection with contemporary exhibition making practices. As institutional processes continue to change as both cultural views and technologies advance, questions of what bears sufficient significance to be accessioned into permanent collections, who may be granted access to those articles, for what use, and by what means, are all prime for reexamination. This panel talk will bring together professionals from across the fields of architecture, museum practices, and archival work to address these questions, and pose new ones that may help shape interdisciplinary methodologies in future practices.
