The exhibition honors the 40 anniversary of the mural A la esperanza. This 1979 mural was project by Casa Aztlán, designed by Malú Ortega and Jimmy Longoria, and assisted by artists Salvador Vega, Marcos Raya, and Oscar Moya at Benito Juárez High School, two after the school’s inauguration. This exhibition illuminates artist interventions of historical archives, late '70s feminist social documentation, and the power of public arts education in La dieciocho (Pilsen).
