Architectural Education in the Climate Emergency: Redefining an Architectural Pedagogy in Crisis

Venue

"We recognize that the current ecological crisis stems from the perpetuation of a socioeconomic system that our planet is unable to support. In this time of unprecedented change and challenge, how can education nurture new ways of thinking? The nature of the crisis we face demands more than any one individual approach. If we are to change the world, we must look at the core values of educational systems. The conversation aims to chart a path atoward pedagogical and cultural shifts within and outside of our architectural institutional life." - AAction

This student-led project at the Architectural Association is committed to bringing about the necessary pedagogical and cultural shifts in architectural education in order to effectively work toward climate justice. AAction convenes weekly working groups to develop and support different initiatives. With an inquisitive, continuous, and open approach, it delves into established discourses and practices through which architecture engages with climate change.

This program is organized by AAction. No rsvp necessary, the event is recommended for students but open to all wishing to attend.
