Guided Tour of Indian Ridge Marsh

Venue

In the 1970s, Indian Ridge Marsh in the Calumet area was used for the dumping of slag from steel making operations. Centuries earlier it was an important waterway used by Native Americans. Today, due to the work of organizations such as the Wetlands Institute, the Chicago Park District, and Audubon Great Lakes, the marsh is again home to migrating species of wetland birds and native plants. Join us for a tour of this newly restored area.
