A continuous series of tableaux vivants, Monuments / Monumental centers on the empty bases of former Lenin monuments filmed in villages and cities across Ukraine in 2016, removed from the era of 90s post-independence up until the beginning of the 2015 de-communization laws. With their Lenins removed, the bases remain as public architectures in public spaces, sculptures in themselves, awaiting new futures while constantly acknowledging their past and present. Monuments / Monumental will be projected each evening after dark, visible directly from the street.
