The Architecture of a "Housing Crisis": Organizing Lessons from Vancouver and Chicago

Venue

An investigation, led by Vincent Tao in coversation with Jawanza Malone, of case studies of housing struggles in Chicago and Vancouver, Canada: in Vancouver's Chinatown, a five-year civic dispute over a neighborhood’s "cultural character", architectural heritage, and its residents' right to remain; and in the Downtown Eastside, a decade-long campaign of militant blockades and tent city occupations to challenge the dismantling of public housing.
